The Godmother (or Tawny Russian) is the softer variation of the Godfather. Lose the Scotch and add vodka for this more lady-like lowball on the rocks.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 oz Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Amaretto

Lynchburg Lemonade is named after Lynchburg, Tennessee, the hometown of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, and is one of the most popular mixed drinks. This can also be made into a great summer party punch mixing 1 part each whiskey, sweet & sour and triple sec with 4 parts soda in a punch bowl garnished with lemon wedges and maraschino cherries.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 oz Jack Daniel’s Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz sweet & sour
  • lemon-lime soda

The Wedding Cake is a very common cocktail that has two variations that are the essentially the same yet they’re distinctly different. One uses white creme de cacao and milk while the other uses gin and cream. To further confuse things the drink is like the Daiquiri in the respect that the drink is either shaken and served on the rocks or it’s blended. No matter which way you decide to serve it, it’s a given that it will be one great drink for your wedding.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Recipe 1:
  • 3/4 oz gin
  • 34 oz Amaretto
  • 1/4 oz orange juice
  • 1/4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1/4 oz cream
  • —-
  • Recipe 2:
  • 1 1/2 oz Amaretto
  • 1/2 oz white creme de cacao
  • milk
  • pineapple juice

Another great Champagne cocktail and this one’s a light blue color. Get creative with your glassware for this cocktail, I prefer a white wine glass or old-fashioned glass but it is also stunning in a Champagne glass. Finding a blue maraschino cherry may be difficult but a red one looks just as good.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 oz SKYY Orange vodka
  • 1/2 oz blue curaçao
  • 1 oz Champagne
  • blue maraschino cherry for garnish

The Bocce Ball is great highball juice drink. With the amaretto and soda it’s much like a Screwdriver on steroids, and is a very interesting cocktail. I would include the Bocce Ball on the list of drinks most bartenders will want to be aware of. Also, because of its relationship to the Screwdriver, it an easy one to remember.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz amaretto
  • orange juice
  • splash of soda water
  • orange slice for garnish
